Review your goals and update your business plan

Your business has evolved and grown, just as you have along your entrepreneurial journey.  Let’s take this time to reflect on this journey, evaluate your progress and celebrate your accomplishments.  Are you on track with your goals or do you need to make some adjustments?  Be sure to note any major changes that your business has gone through, and update any action plans.  Spring cleaning your goals and business plan will certainly invite some new energy and focus to your routine!

Tidy your profiles

Springtime is a great time to take a step back and really look at how you are reaching your audience.  Have a look at your website and your social platforms.  Do the photos and the copy still align with your brand and resonate with your target audience?  Perhaps your business has evolved this year and you need to update your profile or your messaging.  Be sure that all contact info and call-to-actions are updated as well.  Fixing these seemingly small details can have a rather big impact.

Refresh your marketing strategy

Marketing is not a set it and forget it kind of thing.  Springtime is the perfect time to evaluate your marketing efforts and research new ways to reach your target audience.  What strategies worked well last year?  What are the competitors doing?  Are there new marketing trends or opportunities that will be a good fit for your business?  Asking yourself these questions will help you redefine your marketing strategies and refocus your energy for the year ahead.  If you are looking to revamp your marketing strategies with the help of a seasoned professional, have a look at our available packages!

Clean out your inbox

Spring cleaning is more than just removing the physical clutter and dust. Many of us are guilty of carrying too much email clutter too! Email overwhelm is a common complaint of entrepreneurs as their business grows.  To tame your inbox, your first step is to mass delete and unsubscribe from any mailing lists that are no longer serving you.  You can also mass delete common email notifications that are no longer required, such as meeting invites and RSVPs.  Next, you want to organize your inbox with folders so that you can properly file the emails that you need to keep.  You can organize your folders by client, by action steps required, or however is going to work for you.  To optimize your inbox filing system, consider creating rules so that incoming emails get automatically filed in the appropriate folder.

Straighten your books

With the added relevancy of tax season, now is a good time to focus a little spring cleaning energy on your books.  To avoid accounting nightmares, it is good practice to tidy your books throughout the year.  However, when you are spring cleaning, you can give your books a good scrub and evaluate your bookkeeping systems.  Is your current accounting software fulfilling your needs? Do you have a good system for recording your expenses and storing your receipts?  Are there any recurring problems with cashflow? Now is a good time to create or optimize your systems so that spring cleaning your books will be faster next year.

Reset your work area

A clean and organized work space plays a key role in productivity as well as reducing stress.  Start your office spring clean by decluttering your desk and handling any paperwork that has been piling up.  If keeping your work area clean is a constant struggle, consider creating a permanent home and a system to deal with these items.  You can even store these items digitally instead of keeping hard copies!  Finish your office clean by wiping everything down and creating a calm and inviting space.  Set yourself up for success with a new desk organizer, a plant, or some flowers.

Spring cleaning your business can make you feel refreshed and revitalized.  Follow these tips to give your business a breath of fresh air!  As always, don’t hesitate to reach out for the support you need to help you succeed!
