Your phone buzzes. It’s a message from a friend asking you to check out a link, and before you know it you are 1 hour into your Facebook feed, watching random YouTube videos or checking out the new line of purses at your favorite store, when you should be working. Does this sound like you?
If you’re a solopreneur, the biggest struggle you may face is staying on task. As your own boss, you’re going to have to work harder to stay motivated and avoid distraction.
1.Turn your phone on silent.
2. If you find it difficult to avoid social media or your favourite blog, consider investing in one of the distraction-free apps available, such as Anti-Social or Concentrate. These will block you from specified sites for allocated periods of time. and make sure you are mentally and physically present during work hours.
3. Set specific time to peruse your favorite sites.
4. Try a work share office where you are around other productive people.
That also means keeping business matters out of family time. Learning to truly segment your day will help you manage your time and make the most out of each hour.
